A diesel-powered, high-pressure air compressor is rated at 1,100 cfm and has a pressure range from 150 to 350 psi. The self-contained, 100% oil-free compressor chicagoelectricdrill and chicagoelectricdrill has a "save all" base that eliminates fuel spills and oil leaks, making it one of the most environmentally friendly high-pressure units available. The diesel-driven engine stays well within the boundaries of the EPA and CARB emissions regulations. A complete line of accessories for the compressor is also available, ranging from aftercoolers to --40[degrees]F desiccant dryers and filters. Air compressor manufacturer, P.K. Lindsay, Deerfield, N.H., has been sold to American Eagle Accessories Group, Garner, la., a division of Stellar Industries Inc. The Lindsay air compressors are sold under the Lindsay and E.L. Smith brand names. All Lindsay compressor assets have been moved to American Eagle''s Garner plant and resumed full production. American Eagle is also a distributor of various truck-related accessories. According to the company, the FRL series of compressed air filters, regulators, lubricators, and manual control valves provides efficient moisture and contaminant removal, accurate pressure regulation, and precision chicagoelectricdrill lubrication for all air-operated equipment applications. All of the components in the series are available individually or in combination chicagoelectricdrill units. According to the company, its compressed-air productivity tools cut energy costs by as much as 70%, while reducing the compressor burden and shop noise levels. A 24-pg application manual shows bow these accessories provide solutions to spot chilling (to -40[degrees]F), dry machining, blow-off, control cooling, air conveying, static, liquid transfer, and spill pick-up. The products meet OSHA noise and dead-end pressure requirements. Welding shops require many types of equipment, including power supplies, guns, torches, wire feeders, flux-handling devices, and accessories such as cables and ground clamps, as well as consumables-filler metals, fluxes, and shielding gases. For brazing, shops employ furnaces and custom-built fixtures.

Efficiency is further enhanced with the use of magnetic bearings, which avoid fire friction of rubbing parts associated with traditional oiled bearings. Conventional bearings can use as much as 10,000 w, while magnetic bearings require only 180 w. That amounts to 500 times less friction loss. Current development projects are expanding the range and duty of the compressor wheels and promise to offer even greater efficiency for water-cooled and air-cooled duties and different capacities.CONTROLSThe new compressor effectively is a computer. It provides diagnostic and performance information through Modbus to the refrigeration system, which then communicates to the building automation system through Modbus, LonWorks, or BACnet.CHILLER APPLICATIONThe compressor manufacturer and a major chiller manufacturer teamed up to develop a line of ARI-certified water-cooled chillers, which were expected to be introduced in January 2004. The combination of flooded-evaporator technology and an oil-free system has allowed very close approaches and, subsequently, enhanced performance. The integrated VFD allows excellent part-load performance as power consumption drops off, depending on the head relief, near the cube root of the shaft speed.

Rotary hammers, on the other hand, are primarily used for drilling masonry. They typically deliver far fewer blows per minute (bpm) than hammer drills, but thanks to an internal pneumatic piston that delivers the impact energy directly to the bit, each blow is several times as powerful. A hammer drill is better at making holes in masonry than a conventional chicagoelectricdrill drill, but a rotary hammer is much more efficient than either.Size of Holes?Hole size is another important consideration, and this is reflected in the size and type of chuck provided with each type of tool. Hammer drills are equipped with standard three-jaw chucks. As with a conventional drill, the size indicates the largest shank it will accept. Half-inch hammer drills are most common.
